Learning Intention:W.A.L.T-identify ways how Jesus showed respect for the Tapu in people.
Success Criteria:I know I am successful when I can draw one picture of Jesus showing his respect to a cripple man.

Jesus respected the tapu of the cripple man by healing him and making  him walk again.   

Maui dolphins- by Aleenah

Learning Intention:W.A.L.T-write a report.
Success Criteria:I know I am successful when I can write a report about Maui dolphins.

Maui dolphins are mammals. They are endangered species.

Maui dolphins eat small fishes. They also eat squids. Maui dolphins love to eat seaweed.

Maui dolphins are found close to the shores. They live in NZ oceans. They are also found in the west coast of the north island of NZ. 

Maui dolphins use their tails down and up so they can move in the water. They use their top fins and tails to balance in the water. Maui dolphins use their flippers to move. 

Maui dolphins have sharp teeth. They are small. Maui dolphins are grey and white. Some Maui dolphins are black. The shape of their top fins are round.

Maui dolphins babies are called pups. They are born alive. The pups drink milk from the  mother Maui dolphins.

Maui dolphins are amazing mammals.

Learning Intention:W.A.L.T-write a report.
Success Criteria: I know I am successful when I can write a report about sharks.

Sharks are cold blooded. They belong to the fish family.


Sharks eat fish.  They also love to eat krill. Sharks also eat other sharks.

Sharks have sharp teeth. They have a white belly and their back can be grey or black. Some sharks are very big and some are small. Their fins help them move in the water. Sharks must swim all the time or they will sink to the bottom of the ocean.

Sharks belong in deep waters, like oceans, rivers and lakes.

Sharks grow slowly. They can live up to more then 50 years old. The babies of the sharks are called pups and they are born alive. The pups swim away and protect themselves.

Sharks are scary sea creatures.

Success Criteria: I know I am successful when I can write a report  about whales.

Whales are mammals. They live in water. 

Whales breathe air. They are black and white. They are very big. They have a fish like shape. The sperm whale's huge heads is up to a third overall body. 

They use their flippers can and there large tail that helps them move in the water.  

Whales live in oceans. They can survive in both warm and cold water. Whales can be found in Alaska and the United states. Whales can also be found of the worlds oceans from the Antarctic.

Whales are amazing mammals.

Saint Patrick's celebration- by Aleenah

Learning Intention:W.A.L.T write a recount.

Success Criteria:I know I can do this when I write my story in order, use capital letters and full stops correctly and write it in a paragraph form.

                                  
Hooray! Last Friday our whole school  celebrated St. Patrick's day because it is a special day.

First, we go to the church. We listen to father talked about St.Patrick.We also sing and read the bible. After mass we went back to class.Next we played Relay. We walk like a crab.I was crawling like a crab, when I split my legs in the grass ,it was so funny because I was like a worm.

Then we played rob the nest. Some balls are gold some are emerald. I was the fastest runner because I like running. We won the game.
After that we make book marks with a picture of a leprechaun. We have to colour our leprechaun and put them all together. Mine turned out the best.

We make paper air planes next. We folded the paper and decorated the air planes.I draw a flower, a star, windows and fire works. It turned out great.

Lastly we sat under a tree and we ate some popsicles.  

Ash Wednsday- by Aleenah

Learning Intention:W.A.L.T-write a recount
Success Criteria:I know I can do this when I write a story about Ash Wednesday in order using full stops and capital letters correctly.     

Last week at the church we celebrated Ash Wednesday.First we burn the drawings our favourite things.We have to give it up so we can turn back to God.                                                               
 Next we go inside the church.Then father Andrew celebrated the mass.After wards father Andrew put a cross of ashes on our forehead. 

Next Father Andrew read the gospel and  bless us. We all sing to God.Lastly we all went back to our classes.
