Mission day- by Aleenah (final)
Learning Intention:We are learning to write a recount using verbs and adverbs.
Success Criteria:I know I am successful when I can use describing words, full stops and capital letters correctly and write in paragraphs.
First we went to church. It was so quiet when we arrived there. I love going to church because I can pray anytime I like so God can protect me. We sang songs and listen to God's word and do the offering. I carried a poster of children from India, that looked they needed help from us.
After that it was time to sell things and raise money. Our game was hanging apples. Its a game were you have to try and bite the apple without using your hands. Me and Summer were the first children to look after the Apples and money. Mathew was the first boy to try it out in 1 minute. He was in a rush so, he did not win. It was sad, but we still have his money so that's a great way of earning money quickly.
Next I went to room 8. I wanted to have my face painted but, I decided to play mini pool instead. It is a game were you have a stick and hit the 5 balls to get it in the holes in each corner and if you have all 5 in, you win. I won some rounds and I had lots of lollies. All of my lollies was fruit burst.
It was nearly the end of school, so we had a raffle. It is like a lotto that you can win money but, this one is different, you can win toys, balls and groceries. They called out the children that won the Lego Ninja-go one. I won a set and it was a big and heavy.
Finally it was time to go home and I was tired, but hopefully we can do that again next year.

Should we cut down trees-by Aleenah
Learning Intention:W.A.L.T-write a persuasive writing.
Success Criteria:I know I am successful when I can persuade someone about cutting down trees.
Nobody should cut down trees.
I think no one should not cut down trees because they give us oxygen to breath. People should not cut down trees because we can build a house out of it to makes us warm.
We should not cut down trees because we can make furniture and things like pencils to write,tables and chairs to sit and to eat . People should not cut down trees because it bear some fruits to eat.
We should not cut down trees because we can use some trees to make medicine to heal us.
I think people should not cut down trees because when its hot during summer, you can sit on the shade so you won't get sunburn . People should not cut down trees because when we cut down trees and it rains, there will be a flood because there are no trees that could suck up the water.

Breakfast by the sea- by Aleenah
Learning Intention:W.A.L.T-retell one of the Easter stories.
Success Criteria:I know I am successful when I can draw one of the after Easter stories.
1.The disciples where fishing all night but they did not catch anything.
2.A man shouted to the disciples to throw there net to the other side of the boat.
3.The disciples throw their net to the other side of the boat and they caught many fish.
4.Peter swam towards Jesus.
5.Then the disciples eat fish down by the shore with Jesus.

Adding on tens- by Aleenah
Learning Intention:W.A.L.T-make a whole tens.
Success Criteria:I know I am successful when I can add two numbers that makes a whole ten.
Problems: Chose numbers that make ten then add the rest to make the number.
1) 7 + 4 + 3= 14
I know its 14 because 7 + 3= 10 + 4= 14.
2) 9 + 7 + 2= 19
I know its 19 because 9 + 1= 10 then 7 + 2= 9 so 10 + 9= 19.
3) 2 + 6 + 3 + 8 + 7= 26
I know its 26 because 2 + 8= 10 then 7 + 3= 10 so 10 + 10=20 + 6= 26.
4) 9 + 12 + 8 + 11 + 4= 44
I know its 44 because 9 + 11= 20 then 12 + 8= 20 so 20 + 20= 40 + 4= 44.

Multiplying by 2s, 5s and 10s- by Aleenah
Learning Intention:W.A.L.T-multiply numbers up to 100.
Success Criteria: I know I am successful when I can multiply numbers using skip counting, doubles and repeated addition.
Problems: How many marbles are there altogether ?
1) 2 children had 10 marbles each.= 20
I know its 20 because I skip counted by two's 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20
I doubled ten =10 + 10= 20
I multiplied tens 10 x 2= 20
2) Poppy, Sam and Emma have 5 marbles each. How many marbles do they have altogether ? 15

Learning Intention: W.A.L.T-add tens to any number by counting in tens or adding ten together.
Success Criteria:I know I am successful when I can add tens together.
Problems:
1. 40 carvings + 20 carvings= 60 carvings
I know its 60 beacause 4 tens + 2 tens= 6 tens.
2. 37 bananas + 40 bananas= 77 bananas
I know its 77 because 30 + 40= 70 + 7= 77.
3. 15 + 5 + 10= 30
I know its 30 because 15 + 5= 20 + 10= 30.

Maui dolphins are mammals. They are endangered species.
Maui dolphins eat small fishes. They also eat squids. Maui dolphins love to eat seaweed.

Maui dolphins use their tails down and up so they can move in the water. They use their top fins and tails to balance in the water. Maui dolphins use their flippers to move.

Sharks eat fish. They also love to eat krill. Sharks also eat other sharks.
Sharks have sharp teeth. They have a white belly and their back can be grey or black. Some sharks are very big and some are small. Their fins help them move in the water. Sharks must swim all the time or they will sink to the bottom of the ocean.
Sharks belong in deep waters, like oceans, rivers and lakes.
Sharks grow slowly. They can live up to more then 50 years old. The babies of the sharks are called pups and they are born alive. The pups swim away and protect themselves.

Saint Patrick's celebration- by Aleenah
Learning Intention:W.A.L.T write a recount.
Hooray! Last Friday our whole school celebrated St. Patrick's day because it is a special day.
First, we go to the church. We listen to father talked about St.Patrick.We also sing and read the bible. After mass we went back to class.Next we played Relay. We walk like a crab.I was crawling like a crab, when I split my legs in the grass ,it was so funny because I was like a worm.
Then we played rob the nest. Some balls are gold some are emerald. I was the fastest runner because I like running. We won the game.
After that we make book marks with a picture of a leprechaun. We have to colour our leprechaun and put them all together. Mine turned out the best.
We make paper air planes next. We folded the paper and decorated the air planes.I draw a flower, a star, windows and fire works. It turned out great.
Lastly we sat under a tree and we ate some popsicles.

We show respect and love to the land- by Aleenah
Learning Intention:W.A.L.T-recognise what God has created is tapu because God is holy.

We show love and respect for the land by picking up the rubbish and take our rubbish home and put them in the rubbish bin to make our community clean.

Grandma and Grandpa- by Aleenah
Learning Intention:W.A.L.T-write a recount.
Last Friday me and my grandparents went to the mall to buy Christmas decorations.We arrived at a very busy mall.
First we bought a big Christmas tree. Later we walked to the next store but I was hungry. So grandma bought me a big chocolate cupcake. It was so yummy.
We continued to buy decorations. We bought Christmas lights, balls,glitters and a Christmas star. I was tired so we went home.

Stormwater drain-Aleenah
Learning Intention:W.A.L.T write a recount.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I write my story in order, and use capital letters and full stops correctly.
If it rains the water flows in the road and it goes into the storm water drain.When the rain is inside the drain there is a very big pipe where the water flows all the way to the sea. If all rubbish from the road flows inside the drain it will go to the sea too. If the rubbish goes to the sea all of the fishes might die and we can't go fishing anymore.
There is a very important rule:Do not put rubbish in the drain so the water will not be polluted and kill the living things in thewater.

The day I saved Emily- by Aleenah

Me and my sister got a long rope and we pulled her out using the rope.Me and my sister had our clothes on and we were shivering because we got wet and the water was cold. Emily was shivering badly because she was soaked. After wards Emily's mum said ''Thanks".
