Aroha's Way To Becoming Happy - by Aleenah

 Aroha's Way To Becoming Happy

Rain poured against my window, my finger trailing the raindrops as they slid down. I was quite excited that day as my friends were coming over. They always Brighten my day. I smiled as a rush of of amazing memories rushed through my mind of my friends and I/. Suddenly my smile slowly vanished as the happy times I saw were changed into exclusion and sad gestures. It was me, all alone, my friends wearing faces of disgust at me.

I was sitting on the floor, all hunched up as a ball. My hair was covering y face. Tears flowed down my shocked face. I thought of how my friends probably don't like me or get embarrassed by me. Then my thoughts expanded from getting excluded by my friends into my parents disowning me. I feel so bad. I sobbed into my arms for a while. After I felt I didn't need to cry anymore, my friends came in my room dressed weirdly. They said the rain cleared up and we should play outside.

Now I light up and played along. We talk, laugh and play having the best time together. While we were snacking on cheesy chips, I thought what happened earlier. I realized maybe people do need me and I was just overthink. My friends and family always cheer me up and they might not even know what impact the have on me. Sometimes they give me good and bad memories.

The Human Shield - by Aleenah

The Human Shield

The golden rays of the gleaming sun shone onto a beautiful home. Two kids sprinted onto the front yard giggling. They seemed to have perfect lives. The boy saw one of their neighbours and gleefully waved at them. Bridges, the boy, was called by their mom. He quickly ran back inside leaving his sister happily playing alone.

Bridgea’s mother has asked him to make his bed. He groaned but he still urged himself to do it. Bridgea went inside his room and started clearing his bed while also taking quick glances at his sister through the window. She seemed fine until he heard barking on the other side of the road. Bridges heard loud barks. It became louder near his house. He thought of his sister. Bridges bolted outside towards his sister and leaped in front of her, his eyes shut.

The father of the kids heard cries of his son and daughter and burst onto the porch seeing his son slowly falling on his knees. Their dad looked furious and waved the dog to leave and then quickly fell to the ground holding his son screaming and sobbing for his wife. She busted through the door and shrieked.

There was so much commotion going on that the neighbours crowded around and unconscious, damaged Bridgea. One of the neighbours called an ambulance for the little boy. HIs eyes were shut and his stiff body laid  arms. Sirens amplified and soon the ambulance parked on the family’s driveway. Two men carried Bridgea onto a gurner into the ambulance. Inside the moving hospital Bridgea caught a glimpse of the weeping crowd.

A Memory - by Aleenah

A Memory
The anger and disappointment of my regretful memory kept showing itself in my dreams. It always made me feel foolish.

thread yarn needle free photoI can see myself bored and entering my parents bedroom. On the sheets of their bed, lay my mother's sewing equipment. Colorful threads and silver, pointy needles were encased in a translucent box. The box I now despise and all its contents.

buttons colorful color free photoContinuing on, I took the box and quietly carried it into my cluttered room. I already had some buttons with abstract designs on them. They were usually underneath the cushions of our couches in the living room. As I proceeded to put the thread through the small hole of the needle, I kept getting soft aches. In the process, the needle and my left hand kept colliding into each other. I gave slight screams each time it happened. I was sweating with frustration and anger.

After minutes of agony, I gave up regretting those moments. I still have a scar from that memory. I will continually live to regret and be embarrassed by what had happened.

Why Is Having Electricity In Our Homes Important? (Practice Writing) - by Aleenah

WALT: Use the correct structure for the purpose of writing an explanation.

Why Is Having Electricity In Our Homes Important?
Electricity plays an important role in keeping our homes warm, lit, and powered for technology making our lives easier.

Electricity activates our power for technology. We need it for our gadgets to connect to the WiFi. The internet holds useful information we don't know. It also holds a great deal of entertainment and many more activities to do. Electricity plays an important part in keeping us informed.

Heaters are powered by electricity. Warming appliances ensure that we are warm in a cold season/weather.  Heaters are easier to use than heating yourself by a fire, it is also safer.

Vector clip art of small transparent light bulbKeeping our homes lit is important so that we can see and is less dangerous than lanterns or lamps. Electricity is the source which activates lights in homes. Electrical lights are easier to use than other battery-operated lighting objects (e.g. flashlights). Light bulbs brighten up a room while lamps, oil lanterns and candles only shines a part of a room. We need light in our homes so it won't be dark and we can see to work, read and play.

Heaters, lights, and WiFi/technology is all supported by electricity. These things are what makes our lives easier which makes electricity worthy to have.

Why Is Mission Day Important To Us? - by Aleenah

Why Is Mission Day Important To Us? - by Aleenah
Mission day is a fundraising event that our school takes part in to help an orphanage in India.

Our school makes this fun for children so we make up stalls to make money and then send it to the Holy Angels Orphanage in India. People play or buy things from the stalls we created.

The Holy Angels Orphanage was established by the Mission Sisters which is a way of continuing their work but for us to have a great relationship with them. The Mission Sisters not only built an orphanage but a boarding school and a medical clinic for the place.

As the mission partnership of the orphanage and school,  We do this as it reminds us of our responsibility to help people in different areas. Our school also prays for the work for the missionaries who’ve people other people in the world.

Mission day is very important to us because the children in the Holy Orphanage is our Mission Partnership.

Anzac Day - by Aleenah

Anzac Day
ANZAC day was a memorable day for the people who died as anzacs in World War l. Every 25th of April we remember those who sacrificed their lives for peace.

The Battle of Chunuk Bair
At Gallipoli, Peninsula in 1915, a battle came upon this world. A lot of people risked their lives in this battle, most died. The reason why World War l happened, was because the British Empire wanted to capture the Dardanelles and get an entrance to the Bosphorus and the Black Sea.

Turkey declined the Empire and their desires and from that moment on the battle started. I don’t know who declared it but this war happened at Gallipoli, Peninsula. While fighting, Turkey got possession of Gallipoli.

How We Celebrate ANZAC Day Now
ANZAC day is a very important occasion for Australians and New Zealanders as it reminds them of the people who sacrificed their lives for their country. In Australia, ANZAC day is celebrated in dawn. We also use poppies in remembrance for the people who died in this war because it was there when the anzacs died. People like us also do this as parade.

The Ending
A lot happened in this war but we are now glad that it is finally done. The Gallipoli campaign mentioned that 87,000 Turks died, 44,000 men from France and so did the British Empire, with Australians and 2,777 New Zealanders also died.

Remembering the fallen brave ANZACS who lost their lives in Gallipoli, ANZAC Day continues to be commemorated every 25th of April. It remains an important part of who we are.

Golden Retrievers - by Aleenah

Golden Retrievers
The golden retriever is a dog breed and they are very smart. These dogs have a lot of facts you may not know.

Appearance
These type of dogs have different colors because some countries have different colors for their golden retriever. Adult golden retrievers are medium-large. They mostly have a golden brown coating around them but the puppy version is quite lighter than the adult ones.  As they grow their coating starts to become dark. Some golden retriever puppies start with white fur. Here are some golden retrievers from other countries.

British Golden Retrievers are more muscular than the american ones. Although they are muscular than American ones, they have a much lighter coating than them as it can be gold or cream. Their eyes are round and dark while their nose is black. Males stand up to 56 - 61 cm and so are the females. American Golden Retrievers are less muscular than the other ones. The males stand up to 58 - 61 cm while females stand up to 55 - 57 cm. These American golden retrievers have a much darker coating of gold than than the British ones. Canadian Golden Retrievers have thinner but darker fur and stands out more than the other ones here. Males stand up to 58 - 61 cm and the females goes up to 55 - 57 cm.

Common Health Problems
Cancer is one of the worst thing that can happen to a golden retriever. The most common ones are hemangiosarcoma, lymphosarcoma,  mast cell tumors and osteosarcoma. These are very bad illnesses for Golden Retrievers. The life of the Golden retriever only last to 11 up to 12 years. Pets have to be taken to the vets every year. There is another common health problem for golden retrievers so if they have a puppy, let them be examined by OFA or PennHIP for hip disease.

These adorable, smart dogs would fit a very good pet.

Do we need to celebrate Mission day or not? - By Aleenah

Do we need to celebrate Mission day or not?
Learning Intention:We are learning to write a Persuasive writing.
Success Criteria:I know I am successful when I can persuade someone to believe my point of view.

I definitely agree that we should celebrate Mission day because we have loads of fun. You may think that we are wasting money but we are actually helping other children. We fund raise and we donated it to the "Holy Angels Orphanage" in India.

Image result for hanging applesWe play games and we win prizes. We also learn how to persuade people to visit each class activity. Every student had a turn to look after the money that we raised, and give it to the person who is in charge in the office.

I had so much fun that I want it to happen everyday.

Learning Intention:W.A.L.T-write a persuasive writing.
Success Criteria:I know I am successful when I can persuade someone about cutting down trees.

Nobody should cut down trees.

I think no one should not cut down trees because they give us oxygen to breath. People should not cut down trees because we can build a house out of it to makes us warm.
We should not cut down trees because we can make furniture and things like pencils to write, tables and chairs to sit and to eat . People should not cut down trees because it bear some fruits to eat.

We should not cut down trees because we can use some trees to make medicine to heal us.
I think people should not cut down trees because when its hot during summer, you can sit on the shade  so you won't get  sunburn . People should not cut down trees because when we cut down trees and it rains, there will be a flood because there are no trees  that could suck up the water.

I think that people should not cut down trees because its God's creation.
