Printing Prosthetics
The company who does this is amazing. Learning how technology is advanced shocks me. These metal hands seems to make the children happy. They look easy to use, unique and painless. It's good to know that the kids are happy and acting similarly to us which makes them feel normal. Thanks Chuck Hull!

Overcoming Adversity - by Aleenah

Overcoming Adversity
I am Aleenah the author of this post. Earlier this year I have changed in a bad sort of way. I was always upset, angry and full of fear. My usual self wasn't there. It was something like a phase. I didn't like or hate everything around me that time. I knew that wasn't me so I tried to become nice but trying hard didn't make a difference for me. I did somewhat calmed down because of one memory of someone showing love to me. I cherish that moment and always will. It put me off misery to happiness. Myself if back. Now being cheerful is my goal. If I'm upset, I read to keep calm.

An Act Of Kindness - by Aleenah

My Random Act Of Kindness
It's sometimes hard to be kind but I know it's the only free thing in the world so, might as well share it.

'Today I decided to make my little brother's bed. IT was a mess but I dealt with it. I knew he was a little annoying but I also knew I loved him. I made his bed and he said 'I liked it' there was a slight smile on his face. It was amazing. He didn't say anything else after that so, I left.'

I thought about what he was doing but I just knew he liked it but maybe he thought it was also a favour?

A Piece Of Advice - by Aleenah

A Piece Of Advice
My sister is someone you can count on. She gave some advice about life in general. She said:

'Not everyone is going to like you, for example you enter a room you've got to be the best you can be especially in a world like ours. Everything is changing and so are people's attitudes. You have to be the nicest, greatest person you can be.'

That is a great advice in my perspective because it's true and reminds us on good we can be. I look up to my sister as a role model.

Cultural People - by Aleenah

Cultural People
Aboriginal Australians are one of the first people who came to Australia. They are also the most historical and cultural. They have lived in their homeland for 50,000 years. They did seperate each other into two groups.
Aboriginal peoples were the ones who inhabited Australia when Britain started capturing one of their islands in 1788.
The other group was called Islander peoples. They ruled over the Torres Strait Islands (known as Queensland today).

Papuan People are the residents of Papua New Guinea. The people there speak all sorts of languages. There are mostly Malaysians than Indonesians but there are many cultures there. The Papuan People also have many religion groups. A lot of them as many followers.

NorthWind (A Short Story) - by Aleenah

NorthWind
The wind blows towards the snowy, pointy mountains. There an old woman sat drinking gin. She could be seen inside here translucent home. 4 windows where situated on the roof's walls. Vint is her name. Vint looked really lonely but satisfied on how she lived. She would sing a tune but the lyrics were always 'hah ummmm herrrrrrr myyyyyy toooorf hinnnnndddd' those were words wolves would hear. She would sing them everytime the wind would blow.

Every Christmas she would stare at a mossy stone wall releasing deep sighs every couple minutes. Animals would circle her cabin with the most odd of faces. One Christmas, a wolf decided to howl at an unexpected time. Vint stopped staring and opened her door. The wind rushed into her home and circled her. The wolf who howled, rested beside her feet. She smiled. Vint knew for sure it was a gift.

Her story was odd. Vint only knew what this meant. She treasured the wolf (who was now called 'Hindavala'). Vint loved him. The year passed and Christmas day was here again. She opened her door and the wolf went out and the wind came in.
She became young and was given a beautiful snow designed dress and cape. Her hair was white and she was smiling. She faded saying 'Northwind'.

The End.

Rosa Parks And Her Accomplishment

Image result for rosa parks
Rosa Parks is known for her great deed to America. At the time, dark-skin people would be separated with the light-skin ones. She thought it was severely ridiculous and unfair. Children at school would be separated from each other.

When Rosa was riding a bus, she refused to give up her seat to a light-skin kid. She got arrested but when she grew up she tried and successfully change the laws of dark-skin people to be treated as fair as light-skin people. Everyone was happy especially her own kind.

NAIDOC YOUTH OF THE YEAR AWARD

My Strategy - I first made 1985 to 2010. The answer I got was 25 years in between. Then added 2 to the 7 because it equals 9, the day she got the award. After that I did the months, 3 months (not including April). That's how I got my conclusions.

Yusra Mardini - Retold by Aleenah

Yusra Mardini
Yusra Mardini is known as an olympian, refugee, swimmer. She swims for a team in Germany. Yusra had a tough life trying to reach her goal. Here are Yusra's main life events.

Related imageYusra Mardini was born in Syria with her parents and older sister. As a young girl, she was afraid of the water in the swimming pools. She would sit at the edge of the pool staring at the water. When Yusra finally got to courage, she went into the pool and started swimming competitively. From then on, Her father trained she and her sister to swim better and better. Yusra enjoyed and loved swimming.

A couple years later, Yusra's country, turned into a place of quiet into a place of terror. Her hometown was in war. Rebel and innocent people kept dying. Everyone was living in fear even Yusra's family.

That was also the time her little sister was a toddler. The family left the city and moved to another. Safety there only lasted a year when the troops started to head towards the town. The swimming pool that Yusra loved was now dusty and the water was filled with dirt. She wanted to leave. She kept begging her parents but they refused. It was WAY to dangerous for them and her little sister.

A family friend invited Yusra and her sister to evacuate the country and move to Berlin, Germany. She brought a few clothes, a phone and some money to bribe the smugglers into crossing each border. They left cautiously. Yusra was terrified just in case the police caught them.

When they paid the smuggler, they were hiding behind the trees. When they left on boat they were caught by the guards and were forced to go back onto shore. They hid behind the trees for a while but then made a run for it in midnight.
20 minutes after they left on boat, the engine stopped. Everyone tried hard to fix it but nothing worked. Water started rising and again people tried to toss them out but nothing worked even throwing their belongings. Yusra gave the look of  'you-know-what-I'm-thinking' to her sister. They jumped into the cold, salty water and all 4 swimmers pushed and pulled the boat towards an island nearby. A boy was staring at Yusra, even though Yusra was in pain, she managed a 'it'll-all'-be-okay' smile at the 6 yr old boy. After 3 and a half hours, they were on the shore of the island.

Yusra was relieved. The trip didn't stop there. She travelled with the refugees crossing  borders from every chance they get. Though they were once caught by the hungarian police and was sent to a refugee camp. On the way they were laughing hysterically because they told the officer 'you think this is threatening? because we just crossed the mediterranean sea thinking we'll die!'. When they got the opportunity they left the camp and travelled until they reached Berlin.

It took them months but they were safe and alive. She was sleeping on the roads and camps. She then heard a swimming club. Yusra was eager to join so she went to tryouts. She was tired so she wasn't at her full best but the coach knew she was good and loved swimming. She then evolved in swimming and her life at Germany.

Yusra Mardini  is an aspiring character. She was full of bravery and courage. Now she is a famous olympian swimmer and her family is with her now living peacefully in Germany.

What I Treasure - by Aleenah

What I Treasure
1. I treasure myself. There is only one of me which makes me rare. I only have one chance for life and I should make the most of it. I do have regrets but that makes lively and human.

2. I love nature which makes be careful around the. Their colours are lively and cheerful. It can make anyone smile and cheer up their day. I treasure it because of it affects me positively.

3. I'm a very imaginative person so I like to read and I treasure stories and books. It lowers down my stress-level and some are comedy which I laugh at. Some prefer to people's lives which I like as it tells me their wise choices and regretable ones.

Serena And Venus Williams (What I've Learnt) - by Aleenah

What I've Learnt
1. I have learnt that this was similar to another one I read about pay equality.

2. I was also wondering on their pay qualities. They are ranked on their gender pretty high, but when it comes to international they are far down....

3. The sisters were showing how women athletes should have the same paycheck which I sort of agree.

I would still wanna know is they were successful on pointing out their point of view and see if it will change.

What My Superpowers Would Be - by Aleenah

Powers I'd Want
1. I'd like strength - I don't want it to be physically but to be inside me. I don't cry often but I easily get hurt which is upsetting so I'd like strength so I wouldn't always get hurt and words wouldn't affect me - confidence.

2. To stop bullying - Everyone hates being bullied especially from their appearance. I don't want people to change what they look like but to be proud. Bullying could and might stop.

3. My last is to walk on clouds - A cloud is a thick mist which is air. Forming clouds would also be fun like sculpting with snow. I just want it to have fun and could bring people there!

Jane Goodall - by Aleenah

Jane Goodall
Jane Goodall was once a  farm girl waiting for hens to lay eggs, but is now an inspiration to people from the National Geographic Society.

Jane was known with her friendship with chimpanzees and how she was assigned to study them in Tanzania. She starred in her own film produced by National Geographic Society which spread the word on her amazing work with chimpanzees. During her research, she found interesting similarities on chimpanzees and humans but chimpanzees seemed quieter than people. They do get hostile at times and fight each other.

After her research was done, Jane declared that Gombe, home of the chimpanzees, was now a reserve area. Goodall Went around Africa sharing the fact of chimpanzees and their effects on us humans. Everyone was inspired by her and great deal of actions which made a HUGE impact in chimpanzees lives. She is truly an inspiring woman.

5 Rules When Sharing Images and Videos Online - by Aleenah

5 Rules When Sharing Images and Videos Online
Here some helpful rules I use when I share videos and pictures online which could also help you.

1. Always review, think properly and be cautious about what image you share. Ask yourself these type of questions e.g. - Is it appropriate? or Is it Copyright?, Will I hurt someone with this?.

2. When streaming, remember to not say anything offensive. When your saying an opinion make it 'formal' (Don't make it sound fob or harsh) because you don't wanna upset someone.

3. When sharing videos or images make sure it's something NOT personal and is okay to be reviewed by the world. Like I said make sure it's appropriate and if you do that is basically copyright.

4. You should share something positive at most times. It's good.

5. When entitling your image make sure you mention nicknames when mentioning something about a person.

Accomplishments Of My Friends - by Aleenah

Accomplishments Of My Friends
A teacher of mine explained how his children is what he is most proud of. They went through tough times in their childhood but then grew up into kind and good human beings.

One of my classmates said they were most proud of being a student in St. Patrick's School. It's cool. They never told me why but I bet it is a good thing that made him change.

My brother shared how he cheered people up by telling them puns and jokes. That is what he is most proud of. He is proud of himself.

Why Female Athletes SHOULDN'T Be Paid The Same Amount Of Money As The Male Athletes - by Aleenah

Why Female Athletes SHOULDN'T Be Paid The Same Amount Of Money As The Male Athletes

The Black Ferns are the female players in rugby. I think they shouldn't be paid the same amount of money as the All Blacks. First of all, it was their choice to play rugby even when men mostly played it. When the female players have kids it was still they're choice to play rugby and train and pay for the tournaments they enter. The women are great but they shouldn't complain as the All Blacks are 'professionals' while the Black Ferns are 'up and coming' professionals.

It's very difficult to express an opinion without hurting anyone.

The BFG - by Aleenah

The BFG Review
‘The Big Friendly Giant is an interesting name but also says a lot about whom he is. Him talking to Sophie was nice but he did sound old. He must be an old giant with grey hair touching his wrinkly shoulders.

The Big Friendly Giant sounds innocent but is really well-mannered and can talk to a child without scaring them. He’s big, making his clothes the same size as him but I doubt anything like that exists. The Big Friendly Giant neither sewed human clothes together or knitted for years to make one shirt for himself. Anyways he sounded confident and didn’t let anything get in his way when he was young but also really calm and humble. He is very like-able and incredibly friendly and natural to Sophie.’
