Just A Normal Family During Christmas - Aleenah

 Christmas Struggles

As the we reach the final day of these writing exercises, I'm excited as I'm running out of inspiration for this but here is today's last piece. Where I write a story based on a picture.

Well here it is...

It was a lively night in the streets of a small town. But down the road, along the country-side, a hustling family was anticipating a reunion. The living room was festive yet busy. The fireplace was cackling, the tree was glistening, the presents were towering, and might I forget, the children were exploring, ransacking and complaining to get their hands on some lavish gifts. “Dad, what are we getting for Christmas?” a whiny voice had asked. “Dad, did you get me slide?!” another squeak of annoyance yelled. “NO WAY DAD, you got me a phone?!!!” a surprised shriek had shook the house. “Okay that’s it everyone now, I’m going to take a photo an-” a mothering voice was cut off and the three kids interfered with a mix of begging pleads and gorilla tantrums. Just then, the house was silenced and a buzzing of honks had alerted a car’s presence. “Everyone shut it and settle your bottoms in front of the Christmas tree and once I come in this house you better act like perfect little angels all right?!” Their mother had uttered every syllable so clearly and strictly that it sent the shivers. She had exited the house eyeing the kids and her husband, but once she set out the front door a pleased and utterly fake smile painted her face. Back inside the house though, was the father struggling while the kids acted like what their mother said wasn’t a death threat at all. “You, come over here and help me set the table real quick and then after that we gather in the living room okay” Their father was now just trying to piece everything together and hold his calm. While his elder daughter was grabbing a few plates, a thump had worried her and their father. Dashing through the hallways, their eyes had feared what might have just happened and well, it just did. “We shouldn’t have let those two in a room alone…”

Christmas Conversation - Aleenah

 A Bet With The Reindeers

After the 'Would You Rather's writing prompts, they became a little repetitive so instead my teacher allowed similar but uncommon ways of writing. Last week's was a conversation while today's is a festive theme, where I write a conversation between the reindeers of Santa!

The night sky was dark and blue but the cities below looked brightly illuminated, with the festive colors of the holidays. “What a welcoming sight this is!” Santa fantasized.
“HA, prancer you lost the bet” Rudolph taunted. “What do you mean this is London!” prancer groaned but protested “We are in the countryside!”. The two reindeer were aggressively arguing at each other and soon Prancer had poke all of Rudolph's buttons and nose. Of Course the reindeer wasn’t happy so it got physical. “You dare touch my nose!?” Rudolph had growled intensely, just like a grizzly bear. “You boys cut it out! And for God’s sake this isn’t London, you bums, it's New Zealand! If it were London, there would be snow so shut it.” Santa’s voice had echoed so loud that it finally stopped the ridiculous fight of Prancer and Rudolph - the world’s two worst geographers. But down in the houses below, a little boy trembled. “Mommy what was that?” “Oh those are..just the birds with the fat mouths” the mother said with no hesitation.

Conversation With A Giraffe? - Aleenah

 Just A Normal Conversation

Today featured a new writing prompt, we were to imagine and write a conversation between two giraffes in this picture. I really am not so confident in my piece so I suggest you read my class', they wrote AMAZING ones! but here is mine...

"Two giraffes were trailing around the sandy terrain of a deserted beach or so they thought...A lost wanderer had been basking in the warm delight of our bright star, they seemed relaxed as one of the giraffe’s examined until their shadows alerted their presence. “Yo, why is a tree standing here, its branches are swaying like the monkey family…” One giraffe whispered. “And it’s bouncing too..” both towering beasts gasped. Well the person whom the giraffes considered a naked trunk of a tree was a human in utter shock yet they quickly returned to reality by wanting to savior this moment. Their hands launched into its bag and scavenged it for a camera, a flashy one too. Without thinking it snapped and flashed...click, click, click. Blinded by their presence the giraffes turned wild. “AHHHHHH, Shortie run!!!!!!” a crazed giraffe ran. “What the heck do you think I’m doing??!!!” Shortie remarked as sarcastically as giraffe-ly possible. “Goodness me how does a tree become so bright, it's brighter than the thing up there! Bruh...” Shortie whispered.  “You know what…..” “What” the panting giraffe questioned ``''I don’t know” Shortie really didn’t know what to say….."

Trading Lives With... - Aleenah

Who Would You Trade Lives With?

As of today, we continue writing on several prompts, today my class wrote why and who we would want to trade lives with though majority explained humble responses of how grateful they already are with their lives, you should read there's but here is mine!

"There are some really inspiring people out there but there is one profession I want to see happen. I would like to live the life of a neurosurgeon! It’s quite a particular career in such an intimidating field but I’m just curious. Our brains are quite interesting and in the hands of a neurosurgeon I may be able to study the types of diseases our brain can develop. The medical industry is of curiosity and healing after all. I find my life pretty boring as I’m quite a boring person, I follow the same daily routine everyday and the same stress clouds over me, plus I want to experience what it is like to be an adult and have money too. I’m okay with myself but it isn’t wrong to want to live like other lucky people."

Three Lessons For My Future kids - Aleenah

To My Future Kids

Today was not the usual would you rather's but instead my class wrote about three things we would teach our future children, here is what I wrote but my class has their own blogs you can also see their point of views.

"To the future life of my kid I hope they would apply these values I wish I was taught. May they have freedom of their own mind and actions and not the high stereotypes of people. For they suppress your true self until you never knew who you were since you pretend to be somebody who you aren’t. They would also be taught the significance of themselves and how they matter and not how they are a waste. I wouldn’t want them to feel they are just one more number adding to the population who are a waste of time or supplies because that is just painful. Lastly, they will never be sexist and will appreciate every race, culture and gender in this world as it is what makes us valued. Overall I wouldn’t want to tolerate a youngster who is another version of my spirit."

Which Natural Home? - Aleenah

 Tree House Or Cave House?

For today's would you rather, it was real estate shopping either live in  a treehouse or in a cave? I will tell you my decision.

"I find that caves seem to be more frightening especially with the creatures under the blanket of darkness. I know I would find it disturbing and I will never be able to sleep or even get on the internet! Tree Houses though would probably be a sanctuary for me. To have a house situated under the canopy of trees would put me in a jovial mood. But I should consider that treehouses are prone to natural disasters. But I’m not going to. My wellbeing would really appreciate it if I was happy and at peace so a Treehouse would probably suit my lifestyle."

The Vaccine Clerk To The World - Aleenah

 Edward Jenner

Edward Jenner is a pioneer in the medical industry after creating the first ever vaccine! A vaccine to a terrifying disease in the years before the mid-19th century - smallpox. It was an amazing turnout for the world who has now eradicated smallpox thanks to Edward, but I will have you read more about him in this little retell of his story in my version.

A Robotic Being Or A Jet pack? - Aleenah

 My Robotic Comrade

Jetpacks and robots are BARELY comparable because its obvious to choose a robot! I'm just kidding you can choose either but for me robots are better than jetpacks and here is why:

"Robots and jet packs aren’t too common in many cities, usually they are owned by high profile people with high numbers in their bank account. BUT If I were part of that society, I would want a robot. Robots can be programmed to do anything and it's nice to have a google next to you wherever you go. Jetpacks on the other hand have limited abilities, and it's only flying to a certain height and just being up in the air. Views are cool and all but you can always just admire it down on the ground and it’s pretty dangerous to be so high up with no foam pit to fall on. My robot would be my best friend or my greatest enemy, who knows! As long as my life has some interesting moments with it, I’m living the dream." 🤖

A Haiku Poem - Aleenah

Mysterious Bystander (RE Week 4 Pt 4)

This poem relates to the story of St. Martin. Where his act of selflessness and kindness is rewarded by God. He tore half his cloak and offered it to poor, cold man. The next day, The sun shone brightly among the winter season. So the class was tasked with creating a haiku poem in the eyes of either the poor man or a bystander.

Jesus, Your Trustworthy Friend - Aleenah

 RE (Week 4 Pt 3)

Written under here is another letter also for the followers of Jesus in the future, I describe how Jesus can be dependable and will always be there. I hope you also find comfort in this as well.

To: The Future (Letter) - Aleenah

 RE (Week 4 Pt 2)

Continuing on our reflection, My class was to piece a letter to the future describing today what life was. Here is my version.

Creation Then & Now - Aleenah

RE (Week 4 Pt 1)

For RE, we were to reflect on the creation of God and how gifted we are with nature. So, my class was to design a before and now concept of our garden. Well my garden hasn't been tended in a while and I believe that it would've looked like a jungle. Here is my representation.

Goat Island! - Aleenah

The Picturesque Wonders Of Goat Island

Goat Island is one of NZ's most exquisite marine reserves and summer destinations, with its vibrant life of nature and creatures. Photos of the area are amazing, perfect for a collage. I was to form one a reading task relating to the study of marine reserves, inspired by the expanding of one in the Galapagos Islands.

Promoting Of The BiciBike! - Aleenah

 The BiciBike Party!

This week my class was introduced to the BiciBike party in Barcelona, where kids there bike, skate and scoot to school. My teacher thought it would be a fun idea for the class to create a poster concept promoting it but here in Panmure. For the record, this is just for creative purposes only! Not only that, she also tasked us in designing a bike mobile fit to carry 3 children. Here is my take on those tasks.

St Martin De Porres - Aleenah

St Martin De Porres

Today is the beloved feast day of St. Martin De Porres, who was a man of little self-desire and only wanted what was best for other people. Under here I wrote little bit about him!

St Martin De Porres, Patron Saint of social justice and mixed-race people, descent from his free-indigenous mother and Spanish nobleman father, was born on December 9, 1519.  At the time, mixed-race people were looked down on and had little privilege, certainly unfair for Martin’s family.  I’m sure the racism would’ve been worse in that era but it didn’t seem to bother him too much as he grew in generosity, thoughtfulness and faith. He began to practice spiritual and religious prayers at the early age of 10 which stood with him all the way until his deathbed. Yet, when he started, his fame grew as it was quite uncommon for a child to be so involved in religious life. This later got him an apprenticeship as a barber. A barber in the 15th century was not only a hair stylist but also a medical pharmacy and wound dresser. To his surprise, Martin was skilled and praised for his ability to heal even the scariest infections which earned him several demanded sessions and love from the people of Peru.

It is of course known that St. Martin De Porres was a selfless man ready to offer the pitied people on streets his medical experience and justice. Everybody appreciated his presence as he would always be kind, accepting & loving to anybody of race.

Flying & Soaring - Aleenah

 Flying & Soaring

As per usual, my class starts with our decisive and descriptive writing piece to warm up our brains. As per no surprise, it was a would you rather! this time we would either be invisible or be able to fly.

"If I ever had to choose between these two abilities, I would hope they would be part of my DNA. Specifically the genetics of flight! With such an advantage it would allow me to reach the peaks of impossibility or even space. To be invisible isn’t bad but sometimes I already feel invisible among the 7 billion population on Earth which is still growing by the way. Though I guess that would come in handy when playing hide and seek….. But I really would not hesitate to soar straight through the clouds, atmosphere and maybe planets! Yet it is only possible if a human could fly."

Dancer Or Singer? - Aleenah

Dancer Or Singer?

Today's morning was like usual, I enter my class meet as quietly as I can and we start of with our brains empowered with a few descriptive language ready for writing! Now today I would rather be a amateur dancer!

"A dancer and singer are both in the entertainment industry! Everybody in the world is familiar with these professions because they keep our lives lively. A singer composes lyrics of artistry and rhyme while a dancer uses their body as an instrument, moving to the beat of the sound. I honestly don’t feel myself to match ANY these skills but I guess I would prefer to be a dancer. I know I won’t be good but at least I won’t crack my voice in an anticipating crowd. Though maybe dancing in a team can hide me, well I most likely won't choose solo dancing! My overthinking, embarrassing mind would prevent me from being solo as a singer but maybe as a dancer I won’t have to worry too much about any faults."

What Would The Saints Do? - Aleenah

 Saints In A Covid Pandemic...

Tropical Vacation Dream - Aleenah

Tropical Vacation Dream

The continuation of the 'would you rathers continue'! starting off in Monday with either relax in a beach in NZ or one overseas. I have chosen to vacation somewhere tropical overseas and here is why...

"Out of all the types of natural scenery's I’ve visited in NZ, they have all had some things in common. Grainy sand, icy-cold tides and dark skies. I find that most beaches look the same so I’m kind of tired of them but I do want to visit the beaches overseas, particularly in my home country (I’ve been quite homesick since covid). NZ has wondrous beaches but they always seem gloomy when I appear. I know that in other countries, their waters hold exploration of coral reefs and tropical fish! Ain’t that exciting? Overall my preference is always around the picture perfect scenery of overseas beaches." 🏖

Which Choice Of Magic? - Aleenah

Which Choice Of Magic?

It's the end of the week and we are still continuing this blogging streak! with today's theme of choices being which of these are better for producing magic? a wand or your hand?. Hope you find my reasons understandable.

"There really isn’t much choice of thought when choosing between these two as you have to choose practically and the type of magic that fits that preference is hand magic. It’s just easier to produce magic and it belittles my worries of me losing a wand, I’m very forgetful. Plus isn’t it just convenient? I mean if I were to be in a situation of being against my will, I won’t have a wand being taken away! but I can’t really think of much reason to have a wand except for looking cool in duels with the sparking flair of colors. Now I’ve run out of things to say but just enough to have written my point."

2 Choices, 1 Explanation - Aleenah

 2 Choices, 1 Explanation

It's Thursday today which is no exception to compose a 'Would you rather?' passage. Like always, these pieces are written under 5 minutes, while explaining your reasons on your chosen decision. Once again, my version is written right under here.

"For every story there is a hero and a villain, they always have a conflicted relationship for the audience’s enjoyment. But it matters on how good their portrayal is. Now, there are a lot of goody-two shoes characters in stories but was there any villain that actually won against any of them? No. Because they choose a go-to plan of destruction that will always fail. Though if I was a villain, I wouldn’t go for destruction….yet but be smart with gaining knowledge and wisdom before using my fists. The reason why I want to be a villain is because I love drama and being stubborn is kind of my thing unlike the lead heroes who must live up to the expectations of the audience. Something I am tired of! If there is any story who needs a villain, I would definitely be in the line for their portrayal!!!" 😈

An Experience Of Old Life - Aleenah

 Would You Rather?

Today is still continuing our series of 'Would you Rather?' and this time it was either choosing between teleporting to my favourite video game or experiencing a role in my favourite TV show! My choice is explained right under here.

"For today's theme of choices, I decided to examine the world of my favourite show. It’s of course fictional but that’s what makes it exciting. But this show is based in the 1800’s, an era that is hard to evaluate into history. It’s dated and a lot of theories revolve around that time. I mean the other choice of teleporting straight into a video game doesn’t intrigue me enough to choose it. Most video games are tests of survival skills and I have poor skills in that department so living in the 1800’s is better for me. As a female your life is planned ahead, it's sad but it changes later on and I would love to see that. This show explores feminism and the era of life in that time, something I want to see."

Christiaan Barnard - Aleenah

Christiaan Barnard was one of the world’s revolutionary cardiothoracic surgeons in history, being the first person to perform a heart transplant surgery on a patient! This created a media phenomenon having impacted the future today.

Which Disastrous Event? - Aleenah

Island Or Forest?

Bringing up the question of either being stranded in an island or the tranquil forest are troubling events of disaster. But saying that I have made my bold decision explained below this text.

"Imagine being isolated in a tropical island of nowhere or in the sights of a damp forest. Looking at the chances of survival, a bushy forest is what I prefer rather than the island of isolation. Well it is evident from articles that nature is kinder to people than the tides of the ocean. With a deserted island, you may just have to count on luck, finding food and water is a must. But you can’t drink salt water as it will make you even thirstier! So if I’m looking to survive, the forest is a go because rivers may flow near and food may be easier to search plus it gives off a tranquil vibe. Picking between these disastrous events was tough but I clearly made my point.

Gills Or Wings? - Aleenah

Gills Or Wings?

The last day of the week, and the last choice of it too! After doing this 'Would you rather?' series, I have seen myself liking it as it serves a creative purpose and it's really fun to know that I may be improving. Here is the choice today! Gills or wings?

"After contemplating between having gills or wings, I understood that the ocean underneath is a world of danger and exploration. To venture in the deep waters, I would need gills to breathe. You must realize that the oceans of our world fill most of earth allowing endless places to visit. This includes the mysteries that humankind hasn't been able to unravel. Yet the skies are open but its bland and not much excitement happens up there. But underneath is a new dimension of species and surroundings. Now that I have validated my point, it is in conclusion that I would definitely choose to have gills than wings of flight."

The Saints of Jesus - Aleenah

 The Saints Of Jesus

This week we are celebrating a few Saints from Jesus' time. I have made a slidedeck as task to do activities relating the lives of the Saints. I also worked hard to create illustrations as decorations for the slidedeck!

Meddling With Time - Aleenah

 Meddling With Time

Everyone knows that you can never change or stop time. But I'm answering the question "Would you rather stop or reverse time?". I've explained myself in this paragraph here!

"Time is always ticking and always moving towards the future. But sometimes I find it going way too quick and it’s having me miss some details I forgot to notice so reversing time is the only solution. With it, I can relive memories and maybe even change or advise myself to do certain things. But I can also just see myself grow. I don’t have to meddle with the past, just view it. With stopping time, it's useless. You would just be living in a frozen day and it's unfair, just stopping time can lead to undisciplined actions or worse. So I find the most practical choice, is to reverse time."

My Take In Zara Rutherford's Route Around The World - Aleenah

My Understanding Of Zara Rutherford's Global Trip

Zara Rutherford may sound recognizable as the young woman travels around the world to challenge the world record of youngest and quickest person to travel around our world. My class was involved in our reading task by individually mapping out alternate routes for Zara with clues from the article we read, here is mine.

Not only that, I also marked the countries Amelia Earhart and Jean Batten had visited! Two iconic, female aviators in the world.

Animal Understanding Or Invading Minds? - Aleenah

 Would You Rather?

Another day of my class's continuous creative exercises. This day's theme was either have communication with animals or reading people's minds! I chose animal dialect and here is why:

"If we were to be able to share the same dialect as animals, it would be gifting. The tongue of several species would be fun and intriguing. Communication with such animals would be beneficial and may even let our beings and animals have a harmonious relationship. As we would consider each other’s needs which is a huge step closer to what God wanted in the beginning. But with the trait of reading people’s minds, it invades privacy and you are never free to think freely or imagine, for example: for artists. Their creativity would be robbed of them and it would ruin trust within people while offering the speech with animals would be building trust so therefore, beneficial."

Wizards Or Superheros? - Aleenah

Wizards Or Superheros?

Day 2 of my class's creative writing exercises - Would you rather?.  This time the choices were to be a wizard or a superhero. This is what I chose and why.

"With the role of a wizard, you can create endless experiences of anything. You are exposed to the wonders of magic and spells which have no possible limit. As of that matter, you may choose how you would act with the knowledge of wizardry. Be good and kind or be hateful and dreaded whilst a  superhero is based on a person who has special traits in which they use for the good of the world. It is their oath. But that’s quite boring and limited but as a wizard, you can do anything."

I Would Rather... - Aleenah

 I Would Rather...

The question 'would you rather slide down a rainbow or jump on clouds?' was asked after my class call which we all had answered by writing a mini paragraph choosing between the two scenarios. Here I wrote my answer and explaining the reason behind it.

I find skipping across the clouds would be therapeutic for me. My mind is always wandering across ideas and crazy imagined events. Running free on clouds would mimic a scene of me running across a flower field. Rainbows can't really compare as sliding down it wouldn't last long as you can anticipate it ending at the bottom with all of your delight gone. But the clouds travel and are on a continuous loop. So frankly, I choose to be free, jumping on clouds.

6 Words, 1 Life - Aleenah

 A New Quote

After  how tough and really boring lockdown has been, a new, but quite fun task has been assigned to the class of room 8. We were to create a quote of 6 words that relates to our lives. Could be the ongoing events, our relationships/friendships or just our lives in general. I chose to create a quote that talks about the light in our worlds and how it affects us. I find that the image I chose really matched my saying so here it is!

Maybe you can find out why I made that image that relates to the quote

A Dream For The Future - Aleenah

A Dream For The Future

At every stage of everyone’s lives, they create dreams and goals set for their future selves. In mine, the mature version of myself is creating universal theories and proving them at the same time, opening the mindsets and the bigger future among the cosmos as an astrophysicist.

Looking from every perspective, an astrophysicist imagines everything and sometimes doesn’t at all believe in the impossibility of anything. Of course, they can’t just roam around preaching their visions without supporting them with facts first. A true way astrophysicists create a knowledgeable mind is from the years of patience in training as a student. The years in a classroom working towards earning several qualifications from a bachelor’s degree in astrophysics, getting a master’s degree and a PhD. Well, it will be a straight struggle of an experience. Not to be too pessimistic about it though, a recurring and reassuring thought is that an astrophysicist is able to gain the passion for a project and immediately get intrigued. It is not only what makes it fun, but what makes them a true scientist at heart.

There are various traits that you would need in pursuing this career and not only that, the educational factors too. As my current youthful and inexperienced self, I am not truly convinced that everything will go well but I’m most definitely sure that I will persevere through many hardships in this rocky road ahead. I am certain because I am just too excited and thrilled at the prospect of debating on various events and information on the universe. Not only should I be able to conquer, I should be able to achieve the educational side of achievements. Though it may cost a lot of money, I am perfectly capable of being financially responsible thanks to several online programs I’ve been participating in during my senior years. A comforting fact is I can handle myself really well, patience has grown in me through life. To sum it all up, I can persevere through hardships and be mindfully taught easily and learn easily too but I can be passionate about a job - especially if I would be a scientist.

I still have a lot to grow, learn and experience but with the traits I’ve been gifted, I have been given the possibility to maybe live the reality of a person from my dreams.

Dear Fred Hollows - Aleenah

 The Impact of Fred Hollows

Australian-Kiwi man Fred Hollows lived the life changing the lifestyles of others through his skill as an ophthalmologist. This remarkable story of his has been expressed by me in this poem I wrote about his accomplishments and how much he provided to this world. When reading it, have look and find a little quote he said in on the phrases. Hint: The words are the first words for each phrase near the ending bit.

He Tried To Walk On Water (Article Reading) - Aleenah

 A Failed Adventurer's Journey (Article Reading )

Another article has been read, and now it was about a man who tried to walk on water in Florida. Reza Baluchi, an ex-cyclist decided to use his extra time and a thousands dollars to create a hydro-pod in an ambition to travel from St Augustine, Florida to New York and possibly the Gulf Stream by WALKING ON THE WATER for 140 km. Though his journey was cut short due to his GPS cables being missing. Now, I was tasked into creating a map to show the journey of this failed adventurer. Underneath this text you will be able to see his planned voyage and where he stopped.

Modes Of Transportation

Another task was to research other unique transportation services used around the world. I had found three that created very strong feelings from me. Though most of them I had found really funny. They must really know what fun means.

Comparing & Contrasting The Ancient & Current Olympics - Aleenah

An Ancient Inspiration

Centuries ago, during the era of Greek Gods, the first Olympics was held to unite the cities of Greece and escape wars. I have learned that the Olympics back then had similarities from our current Olympic games and I have made Venn Diagrams in slides 3 & 4. In the presentation below, I answer questions and compare the Olympics of then and now. A creative task was to draw an Olympian God who was one of the inspirations for the games held in the dated Olympics. I drew Apollo on google drawing.

Choie Sew Hoy, A Rags To RIches - Aleenah

 Choie Sew Hoy

Growing up struggling, having financial issues, Choie Sew Hoy aspired to change that lifestyle he was living in China. As Soon as he was 13, Choie rushed out of the country with some fellow extended family to California after receiving the news of a gold rush. After exceeding well enough, he was able to marry and carry on 4 kids. Until similar news from had also happened in Australia - another gold rush. Sailing to Melbourne, he had a realization. Choie  instead didn't want to be part of the labor but the provider.

He decided to be a merchant. After carrying out decision, Choie received riches, success and fame. Though life in early NZ had Chinese-racism. Communities protested for Chinese to be expelled and less to come but Choie being the supportive and reasonable man he was, he explained how the British had declared that NZ would allow Chinese to come within NZ and not be treated as harshly. After growing his business, Choie had a few riches left to provide within the community and he used his reputation to help incoming Chinese be comfortable entering NZ. Choie Sew Hoy was kind of a pioneer within the business industry in early NZ time.

The Life Cycle Of A Maggot - Aleenah

Maggots

Of course, it is really weird to be writing about maggots as most people see them as gross and icky. Though those people haven't heard of maggots therapy. It is scientifically known that maggots can help clean up and disinfect a wound. They eat the dead tissues within that wound and cleans it all up! under this paragraph, I have recreated on google drawing the maggot life cycle.

An Opportunity You Wish You Had - Aleenah

An Opportunity You Wish You Had

After carrying so much experience on a specific subject (Drama), my friends and I were invited to create the starting point of expanding the learning experience of Process Drama. It enhances the vocabulary of youthful minds and allows them to produce expressive pieces.

Several lengthy practices later, we were ready to teach at Stonefields Primary School. Arriving at the school, our voices drained from the laughs and tunes we shared in the car with a fellow teacher of ours.

Reaching the gates, I was in awe and intimidated. Rambunctious children were crazed over in the park and teachers chatting oblivious of the time. This had silenced me into my thoughts of anxiousness. My palms were already sweating nearly forging a hole in my script.

Finally reaching our brightly cluttered hub, I was again in shock by the learning environment these lucky students had to learn in. Setting up our group was practicing and playing around, exploring the class, and sweating our palms till our papers could rip. Though so many joyful jokes and laughs changed the atmosphere slightly relieving us of our anxiousness until our students arrived. One of us introduced who we were. I started off with the convention of Themes, a simple way to express the vocab in the minds relating to specific words. After being the first person my confidence in ourselves grew all the way to the end of the movie. The movie wasn't long, it was called the Yellow Umbrella a story of sacrifice. The rest of the conventions were amazing! and absolutely fun.

Then came the last part, a Q&A regarding Process Drama. We got to express our emotions about the subject and tips to help students get familiar with this process. At the end of the day, I loved it and man would I accept any opportunity like this again! it was extremely fun especially with the people I spent this spontaneous event with.

Traveling Through The Ear - Aleenah

Travelling Through The Ear

Above this text, you will be able to see a diagram of my creation on google drawing of our ear and how it transmits the sound from our pinna, the outer ear then the brain for translation. There is a whole system for our ears and not many people realize that but now I hope you do.

Satellite Orbit System - Aleenah

 Satellite Orbit System

As a reading task, I was to replicate a diagram of how a satellite is launched into orbit and what it does. The diagram below this text, it shows the system as well as the coordinated labels on the left.

The Colosseum (Wonder of the World) - Aleenah

 The Colosseum

A task was given to me to choose one of the 7 wonders of the world and write an infographic about it. I have always admired the Colosseum and even wrote about it before. Here is the one I recently made.

Now I'm glad it's just a wonder of our world, its architectural structure is amazing and one of the best the Romans built in their era.

Emergency Alert - Aleenah

 Emergency Alert

Here is where I wrote an emergency alert/text. It was from a scenario where the Civil Defense has asked me to make an alert for the public, in this case, it was for the tsunami. They figured their alerts were too wordy and long. Here I wrote a straight-to-point text but it also includes the same topic.

A Time In My Life (Diary Entry, Christian's Journey) - Aleenah

A Time In My Life

Lifting up the led from the paper, a thundering echo shook the ground "BOOM." Bricks came flying and ash came flooding. My stomach tightened. It felt like a rope was tying me down for life to end. I turned hesitantly, my eyes mirrored the fuming flames and the fiery sparks. "RUN RUN" a screeching voice called. Walking slowly back, I tripped on a piece of hardwood. Crawling away, escaping yelps and the constant ringing in my ear was all that could be heard. Finally getting up, a river of tears came streaming down, as my legs ran outside, away from the raging ignited building.

Fake Facts - Aleenah

 Fake Facts

These are categories people use when sharing fake facts and information. I have written in this table what they are and what they mean. I hope you don't use these or come across on them!

Misinformation

Malinformation

Disinformation

Misinformation is information that is wrong and not facts but it’s not really meant to hurt anybody at all so it’s not really such a bother to share misinformation. Most of the time it’s for comedy.

Malinformation is supposed to harm somebody. They use this as a way to cyber bully and share private information. It is usually provoked by maybe a hate speech.

Disinformation is a mix of both misinformation and malinformation. This is intentionally false and is to cause harm to people. This dangerous act is deliberate to try and manipulate you to think a certain way.

A Yellow Umbrella - Aleenah

 A Yellow Umbrella

"Tha-than-thank you!" I muttered. She looked down at her fidgeting shoes. "I didn't know, I'm sorry" her soft voice echoed around them. Silence was the only thing heard. The mother urged her daughter to go downstairs. Both women fled thundering down the  stairs. Only the two of them alone. We both could see their growing smiles looking at each other. My heart finally slowed down, it was a relief since I already felt embarrassed around her. We both ventured around the attic, observing the quaint furniture. Receiving the aroma of old books. After inhaling the atmosphere both of us came flashing down the steps to finally join the fun.

A Sailing Experience - Aleenah

 A Sailing Experience

It was a drafty day which meant it was time to sail. Thanks to the St Johns Rotary & Yachting NZ sponsorship, we got to spend our time having the most fun in and on the water! I really loved it and I'm very grateful to them. I'm just recounting my most favorite moments.

After they explained all of the safety regulations to us, we were asked to assemble our own boat with barely any help but a display. My and two friends and I did perfectly well! Of course there were some minor mishaps but overall the boat was functional. Not the neatest but functional.

After removing our boats off land, we were all attached in a convoy since we were just starters. After the speed boat towed us around (It felt really fast), we had a little lunch break then sailed on our own since most of us finally got the hang of it. I now know how to use the sail and steer the boat. When steering your boat goes the opposite way whilst the sails just follow the wind. You just have to be able to control it unless you want to reach the middle of the ocean.

I felt that sailing is actually something I could really enjoy doing. It's easy and I was confident as my life jacket was protecting me.

Of course the day was going all too well until it started raining. We were not too bumped about. but we did have to cut our fun short because it was time to get back to SCHOOL.

Last year the Year 7 & 8's were unlucky since covid struck and they couldn't go sailing. Now I am most grateful to St. John's Rotary & Yachting NZ for giving my friends and I the opportunity of a lifetime. It has sparked an interest in me and to maybe pursue sailing in the future.

Thank you!

A Diary Entry - Aleenah

 An Umbrella Story

This is a diary entry I have written in response to a short animated movie we are studying for literature.

I was neglecting telling my story for such a long time, its made me sob into feeling emotionally weak. Curling into a ball of sadness, my scarf damped with my tears of regret and guilt. My mind zoomed through my flashback, strolling down the street, hand in hand with the most soothing, familiar warmth I once took for granted. Gliding my frozen fingertips along the metal fence, it hummed chiming sounds behind me. We slowed down a bit by the most sweetest display window. The scent of sweet strawberry frosting mocked my nose. My father wrapped me close and urged to keep on going. We were almost close to my surprise. My boots hopped onto numerous pockets of puddles, both of us sharing our last laughs oblivious to what would come ahead. The saddest rain poured over me and my dad. He opened the boldest yellow umbrella. It was the light among the pitch black umbrella. Huddling close, we shakily rose onto the porch. My dad swathed my face with his knitted scarf. Starring me down with the most regretting smile. Disappearing onto the roads, leaving me stranded, all alone, with nobody.
